What to do in the event of an Accident
- If anyone is injured, immediately call 911 and render any possible first aid assistance.
 - Report the accident to the nearest police station and file a report.
 - Cooperate fully with the police, but do not make any admissions about your liability. Do not sign any statements other than for an authorized representative of your insurance company.
 - Take pictures of the scene of the accident, including license plate, registration, insurance of all vehicles involved.
 - Exchange information
- Exchange names, addresses and insurance information with the driver of the other vehicle
 - Record the Date, Time & Place of the accident
 - Driver’s License Number of the other drivers
 - Names, addresses & phone numbers of all passengers & witnesses
 - If the plate is out of state, get full insurance details
 
 - Save any dash cam footage immediately
 - Report all accidents promptly by emailing Claims@Pearlandny.com or visiting your closest Pearland office. Email or bring the following documents:
- Driver’s License, TLC License/Rate Card (if applicable)
 - Vehicle Registration
 - Police Report (if available)
 - Pictures, Dash Cam Videos and all accident details
 
 
Print the “Report of Motor Vehicle Accident” form below and keep it in your glove box. You may complete the “MV-104” form and email or bring to our office before visiting.

Reporting Accidents is required under NY Law and TLC Rules
Under Section 605 of the New York State Vehicle & Traffic Law, all drivers involved in an accident where:
- A person is injured or killed, or
 - Property damage to one individual (including yourself) exceeds $1,000
 
…must file an accident report (MV 104) within 10 days. Failure to file may result in license suspension or insurance coverage denial.
Important Reminders
- Report all accidents to Pearland Brokerage immediately.
 - Save all supporting claim documents: police reports, photos, dash cam clips, witness statements.
 - A dash camera can help prove fault, prevent insurance fraud, and provide critical evidence for claims, tickets, or court.
